Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Wrati Matrimony (“Wrati Matrimony”, “we”, “us”) for the use of our website, mobile apps and related services (the “Service”).

By creating an account, or by using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, Child Safety Standards and Refund Policy, which form part of them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and do not need a physical or digital signature.

The Service is a matrimonial service for people looking for a spouse. To register, or to be registered by a relative, the person on the profile must:

• be of legal age to marry in India: at least 21 years for men and 18 years for women;
• be legally able to marry - single, divorced, widowed, or awaiting a divorce where the profile says so honestly;
• not be barred from using the Service by law, or previously removed by us; and
• be looking for marriage, not for a casual relationship, business contacts or any commercial purpose.

Each person may have only one profile. We may ask for proof of age or identity at any time and refuse or remove a profile that does not meet these conditions.

• Give accurate, current and complete information, and keep it up to date. Do not misrepresent your age, marital status, religion, community, education, profession, income or family.
• Keep your password and one-time codes private. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
• Use only photos and videos of yourself, recent and recognisable, that you have the right to share.

Profiles created by a relative

A parent, sibling, relative or friend may create and manage a profile for someone else only with that person’s knowledge and consent, and must state their relationship. The person on the profile can claim it and take control at any time. Family members invited to help can act only within the permissions the profile owner gives them.

You must treat other members with respect and use the Service only to look for a life partner. As the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 require, you must not host, display, upload, publish, share or send anything that:

• belongs to someone else and that you have no right to share, including their photos or contact details;
• is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another person’s privacy (including bodily privacy), insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, racially or ethnically objectionable, or encourages money laundering or gambling;
• is harmful to children;
• infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
• deceives or misleads about where it came from, or knowingly communicates false or misleading information;
• impersonates another person;
• threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with other countries or public order, or incites an offence;
• contains a virus or other code designed to interfere with any computer resource; or
• is patently false and written to mislead or harass a person, entity or agency for financial gain or to cause injury.

In addition, you must not:

• ask any member for money, gifts, loans, investments or financial details, for any reason;
• demand or discuss dowry, which is a criminal offence under the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961;
• harass, threaten, stalk or abuse anyone, or keep contacting someone who has declined or blocked you;
• share another member’s details, messages, photos or screenshots outside the Service without their consent;
• use the Service for dating, escort services, marketing, recruiting members to other services, or any commercial purpose;
• create fake or duplicate profiles, or register while already married without saying so;
• collect data about members by scraping, bots or any automated means, or try to get around our security, limits or privacy settings;
• use the Service in breach of any law.

You keep ownership of the photos, videos and text you add. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, re-encode, display and share that content as needed to run the Service, within your privacy settings, for as long as it is on the Service. If you agree to publish a success story, the licence also covers showing it on our website and apps.

Photos and some profile text are checked before other members see them, videos are reviewed by a person, and messages are checked automatically for scams and abuse (see our Privacy Policy). We may decline, edit out contact details from, or remove any content that breaks these Terms. We are not obliged to review everything, and we are not responsible for what members say about themselves.

We offer checks such as phone and email confirmation, selfie and ID checks, and document review. A verification badge means only that the specific check shown was completed when it was done. We do not carry out criminal, financial or background investigations and cannot confirm everything a member says about themselves or their family.

We provide a platform for members to find and contact each other. We are not a party to any relationship, engagement or marriage between members, and we do not guarantee that you will find a match or that any member will respond.

• Basic use of the Service is free. Paid plans add benefits such as viewing contact details, which are described on our plans page at the time you buy.
• Prices are in Indian rupees and include or add GST as shown at checkout. Your invoice is available in your account.
• Plans are never renewed automatically. A plan runs for the period you paid for and then ends; we may remind you before it does. To continue, you buy again.
• Buying the same plan again extends it from the end of the current period. Moving to a higher plan starts it at once, and the unused part of what you actually paid for your current plan is credited. A lower plan cannot be bought while a higher one is active.
• Benefits that are counted (such as contact views) are used up when you use them and do not carry over after the plan ends.
• Payments are processed by Razorpay, Cashfree or Stripe on their own secure pages. Their terms also apply. We never see your full card number or banking passwords.
• Coupons and referral offers are subject to the conditions shown with them, cannot be exchanged for cash, and may be withdrawn if misused.

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. If your account is suspended or removed for breaking these Terms, you are not entitled to a refund for the remaining period.

Assisted service

If you buy an assisted plan, a relationship manager (who may work for a franchise partner under contract with us) will search for matches and may contact members and their families on your behalf. They act within the permissions you give, and you can ask us to change your relationship manager.

You can report any profile, photo, video or message, and block any member. Our safety team reviews reports, with the most serious (harassment, requests for money, abuse) reviewed within a day and others within three days.

If you break these Terms we may warn you, remove content, limit features, end a call, suspend your account, or remove it permanently, and we may refuse to let you register again. Where the law requires, we will report conduct to the authorities. Decisions to suspend or remove an account are made by a person, not automatically.

If you think we got it wrong, write to our Grievance Officer (details below) and we will look at it again.

You can hide your profile, or delete your account in Settings, at any time. Deletion removes your profile from the Service at once; some records are kept as our Privacy Policy explains. We may end or suspend your access as described in Section 8, or if we stop providing the Service. The sections on content, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and disputes continue to apply after your account ends.

The Wrati Matrimony name, logo, design, software and the content we create belong to Wrati Matrimony or its licensors. You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial search for a spouse; you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or reverse-engineer any part of it.

We work hard to keep the Service available, accurate and safe, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that information members provide is true.

We are not liable for the conduct of any member on or off the Service, or for any loss arising from your dealings with other members. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for any claim about the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

You agree to compensate Wrati Matrimony for losses, claims and reasonable legal costs caused by your breach of these Terms, by content you shared, or by your violation of anyone else’s rights or of the law.

For content that members add, we act as an intermediary under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000. We remove or disable content when we receive actual knowledge of it through a court order or a notice from an appropriate government agency, and act on complaints received through our Grievance Officer, within the times set by law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any dispute informally. Subject to that, the courts at the place of our registered office have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to approach a consumer commission.

We may update these Terms as the Service changes; the date at the top will change. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you by email or in the app before it applies. If you keep using the Service after that, the updated Terms apply; if you do not agree, you can delete your account. Questions about these Terms can be sent to our support team.
